Capability / Lifecycle and supply

A decade is a plan, not a slogan.

Industrial boards stay in service for 5–10 years; Intel embedded availability runs 7–15 years. GEOLiNK's per-model lifecycle statement is an open item, confirmed per project rather than published as a promise.

Read the timeline

Industry norms are cited as norms, not as GEOLiNK commitments. Per-model availability is confirmed with the supplier.

Lifecycle axis / known and open

The lifecycle axis.

Two published ranges bound the discussion: the 5–10 year industrial norm and 7–15 year Intel embedded availability. Neither is a per-model commitment.

Fifteen-year lifecycle axis A horizontal axis from year 0 to year 15 with three bands: industry norm 5 to 10 years, Intel embedded availability 7 to 15 years, and an open GEOLiNK statement marker. 0 5 10 15 yr Industry norm · 5–10 years Intel embedded availability · 7–15 years GEOLiNK PER-MODEL STATEMENT · OPEN
Lifecycle ranges drawn to scale · norms, not per-model commitments
  • Known Industry norm and Intel embedded range.
  • Committed Per model, at quotation, with the supplier.
  • Open A written GEOLiNK lifecycle statement.

Two rhythms / comparison

Consumer rhythm, industrial rhythm.

The difference is not speed; it is what is fixed and what is announced before it changes.

Dimension Consumer electronics Industrial board
Refresh or service horizon 12–18 months 5–10 years typical
BOM and change Not addressed here Fixed BOM and change notification
End of life Not addressed here EOL/PCN and last-time-buy
Silicon availability Not addressed here 7–15 years Intel embedded

The industrial column describes the documented norm. GEOLiNK's per-model position remains an open item until it is confirmed with the supplier.

Revision control / PCN and last-time-buy

Revision control is the product.

A change is handled as a supply event: revision control, PCN/EOL notice, a last-time-buy window and an alternate model. The sequence is a response plan, not a promise of indefinite stock.

  • Revision controlReleased configuration
  • PCN/EOL noticeIssued before the change
  • Last-time-buyWindow confirmed per project
  • Alternate modelProposed for requalification

Supply response / five steps

When a change lands.

The order is the commitment structure. Each step produces a document or a decision, not a verbal assurance.

  1. 01

    Change detected

    Component or process change identified.

  2. 02

    Notice issued

    PCN/EOL notice to affected projects.

  3. 03

    Last-time-buy window

    Quantity and window confirmed.

  4. 04

    Alternate proposed

    Closest documented model named.

  5. 05

    Requalification

Fit and function checked before release.

The first two numbers are industry ranges. The third is deliberately not a number: no per-model lifecycle duration is published before the supplier confirms it.

Documented bases / four models

Four boards, four supply paths.

Each card names the documented form factor and the attribute that most affects a long build.

Before the purchase order

Three supply questions.

Is there a written lifecycle statement?

Not yet. GEOLiNK's per-model lifecycle statement is an open item; the industry norm and Intel embedded range are cited as norms, not commitments. Ask for the model and we confirm the position with the supplier.

What happens at EOL?

The supply response is a PCN/EOL notice, a last-time-buy window and an alternate model. The exact notice period and stock position are confirmed per project.

Can you hold stock?

Stock holding and last-time-buy quantities are confirmed at quotation. No buffer quantity or holding period is published.

Lifecycle and supply / scoped inquiry

Send the model and the years you need.

Include the board, the expected service life and the alternate you could accept. Quote within 24–48 h; open terms confirmed at quotation.

GEOLiNK's per-model lifecycle statement is an open item. Industry norms are not commitments.
